Vall Fosca is a Pyrenean valley in Pallars Jussà, known for its wild landscapes and rich natural heritage. The valley is home to over 30 high-mountain lakes, accessible via the Estany Gento cable car. It serves as a gateway to the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, making it ideal for hiking and exploring the old hydroelectric power plants that are part of its history.

The head of Vall Fosca has been significantly altered by the hydroelectric exploitation of its lakes. Nevertheless, it retains the rugged, wild character typical of high mountain areas. Its imposing granite relief and numerous lakes are the main attractions of this valley on the outskirts of the Park.
